MKPAT ABASI GROUP IS A NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION IN AMERICA

MKPAT-ABASI GROUP IN AMERICA is a non-profit, 501c3 charitable and non-political organization formed by the sons and daughters of Ikot Abasi and Mkpat Enin Local Government Areas of Akwa Ibom State in Nigeria, residing in the United States, for the purpose of uniting our people where ever they may be in order to provide a forum for meetings and deliberations on issues that affect us all.

Purpose:
This organization is organized and operated exclusively for charitable, educational and cultural purposes. Membership: Membership is open to anyone who subscribes to the mission and objectives of this organization and paying annual membership dues and other fees.

Major Accomplishments:
Completed a $400,000 Medical Equipment and Supplies Project in 2010. In partnership with an American non-for-profit organization and based on needs assessment, Mkpat-Abasi Group secured and shipped a 40-foot cargo container, consisting of 833 boxes of 77,335 pieces of medical supplies/equipment to Ikot Abasi. Major equipment included an X-ray and Ultrasound machines and durable equipment as hospital beds. The Group distributed the supplies/equipment to Ikot Abasi General Hospital, Cottage Hospitals in Ikot Abia, Ikot Ekpaw, Edemaya and Asong, as well as to health centers in Essene, Ikot Akata, Ikot Akan/Ete, Mkpat Enin, Minya, Ikot Umiang/Okon, Ukam, Ikot Usop, Uta Ewa, and Eastern Obolo.

Mkpat Abasi Group executed a one-week medical mission at the General Hospital, Ikot Abasi, in March 2016, where thousands of people were served by medical professionals from Nigeria and USA, and about 50 surgical procedures were performed. This project was executed in partnership with Pro-Health International and Akwa Ibom State Association of Nigeria, USA, Inc. (AKISAN).

Future Project:
To conduct a medical mission in Mkpat Enin/Ikot Abasi LGAs in March 2018. Any interested persons, especially medical professionals, are invited to join us for this mission.
